After ten weeks into the Secondary Methods’ sequence, I feel that I
have improved my knowledge and ability to incorporate technology in a
music classroom. I was paired with a partner and we created a
Power Point presentation for my Related Arts Music final. This
project was a learning process in which I taught myself the basics of
the program, how to create new slides, add clip art and simulated
effects. It was a huge accomplishment for me, since I can do the
basics in these programs.
I
had problems putting graphics and GIF files onto my program, but I
figured it out by troubleshooting. I have the same problems on my
webpage, but I'm sure if I ask a question, my peers will help me out.
At
this point in the semester, I have raised my knowledge and ability
technology integration to Level 2-3 of the LoTi framework. I will
continue to grow over the semester, but I hope to be at a high level 3
or 4 by the end of the semester or year. Patience is key in
learning to integrate technology into the classroom, because many times
your first attemps are unsuccessfull. This is a hard thing to do,
but I'm sure that with the right resources and materials I can be
successfull in integrating technology into my classroom.
